Selection criteria for the Czech national disc golf team

Article I — The national team squad

Selection to the national team squad for a given calendar year is announced on the basis of the PDGA rating valid as of 31 December of the previous year, in line with the following criteria and conditions:

  1. Selection is carried out separately for each category.
  2. Only a member of both ČADG and PDGA who is a Czech citizen, or has resided in the Czech Republic for at least 2 years, can be included in the selection.
  3. A condition for a player's selection is that, in the 18 months before the selection, they play at least 8 rounds at PDGA tournaments held in 3 different locations.
  4. Selection is announced by the ČADG Executive Board, or by a person it has authorised, via the email the player has provided in the ČADG members' register at idiscgolf.cz. At the same time, the Executive Board will publish the list of selected players on idiscgolf.cz.
  5. The ČADG Executive Board will decide on the selection by 31 January of the relevant calendar year at the latest.
  6. Inclusion in the national team squad is conditional on agreeing to the national team's terms and rules and on signing the national team agreement.
  7. The national team squad consists of 20 players. The ČADG Executive Board may increase the number of squad members.
  8. Places per category:
    • MPO — 8 places
    • FPO — 2 places
    • MJ18 — 4 places
    • MJ15 — 2 places
    • MPM — 3 places
    • FJ18 — 1 place
  9. Places are awarded to players with the highest rating who meet the conditions of the relevant category.
  10. The ČADG Executive Board reserves the right to change the number of selected players in individual categories if any category's capacity is not filled.

Article II — Selection for tournaments

For competitions (hereinafter "tournaments") where the number of players is limited or where places are reserved on the basis of nationality, selection is carried out by the ČADG Executive Board in line with the following rules and criteria:

  1. The reference date for tournament selection will be announced by the ČADG Executive Board by 31 January of the relevant calendar year at the latest.
  2. Selection of individual squad members is announced by the ČADG Executive Board, or by a person it has authorised, via the email the athlete has provided in the ČADG members' register at idiscgolf.cz.
  3. The Executive Board will decide on and announce the selection within 15 days of the reference date for tournament selection at the latest.
  4. Selection is carried out separately for each category.
  5. Where the reserved places are not directly allocated to a specific category or a specific athlete, the number of places for the categories sharing those places is determined as follows:
    • One place for each of the MPO, FPO, MJ18 and MP40 categories; these places are awarded to the squad members in the relevant categories with the highest PDGA rating valid on the reference date for selection.
    • The remaining places are awarded to squad members based on their PDGA rating valid on the reference date for tournament selection after subtracting the "Reference Rating" (RR) for the relevant category — see Appendix 1. A higher result carries more weight. In the event of a tie, the better finishing position at the most recent Czech Championship decides. If the Czech Championship position cannot decide the matter, the final selection is determined by the ČADG Executive Board.
  6. Where the reserved places are allocated to a specific category or a specific athlete, these places are distributed as follows:
    • For the FPM and MPM categories (excluding MP40), places are awarded according to the highest rating as of 31 December of the previous year.
    • Players who are allocated places by name may only be selected for a tournament if they are members of the national team squad. In exceptional cases they may subsequently request inclusion in the national team squad from the ČADG Executive Board. This does not apply to the FP40-and-older categories or the MP50-and-older categories.

Article III — Duties of a squad member

  1. Refrain from any conduct that would damage the good name of ČADG and its partners.
  2. Represent the country in line with the requirements of ČADG and the relevant international sports body (WFDF, PDGA, PDGA Europe, EDGF, WADA — the World Anti-Doping Agency).
  3. Submit to an anti-doping test — in particular the taking of a urine or blood sample — when required by ČADG or the relevant international sports body.
  4. Actively contribute to the development of disc golf in the Czech Republic, in particular by attending events organised by ČADG.
  5. Maintain a healthy lifestyle and set an example by doing so.
  6. A squad member is required to follow the instructions of ČADG, or those of a person it has authorised (the national team captain, the national team coach).

Interpretation of this document is the remit of the ČADG Executive Board.
